Royal Jelly

Introduction
Royal Jelly is a creamy secretion from the gland situated in the heads of young adult female nurse bee. Bees make Royal Jelly to nourish their young larva for the first three days of their lives, however only the Queen Bee is given a diet of pure Royal Jelly for her whole life.

Royal Jelly is mostly produced by adding frames of specially designed plastic cups containing larva to the beehive and harvesting the Royal Jelly fed to these cells after three days. The process is not harmful to the larvae or the bee colony as a whole.
